Job Description

Don Bosco Public School, a leading CBSE-affiliated school, is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and a commitment to inspiring students to explore and develop their artistic talents. As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills in students, in alignment with the CBSE curriculum.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
    • Develop and implement art lessons that align with the CBSE curriculum, focusing on various mediums, techniques, and art history.
    • Teach students the fundamentals of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and other visual art forms.
    • Introduce students to different artistic styles, from traditional to contemporary art, and encourage experimentation with diverse materials.
  • Creative Development:
    • Foster a love for creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore their own artistic ideas and interpretations.
    • Guide students through individual and group art projects that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.
    • Help students develop their technical skills while cultivating an appreciation for the creative process.
  • Classroom Management & Assessment:
    • Manage a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment conducive to creative work.
    • Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback on their artistic development.
    • Maintain records of student participation and achievement in art activities, projects, and assignments.
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    • Organize and oversee art exhibitions, contests, and displays, both within the school and in collaboration with other institutions.
    • Support and guide students in participating in inter-school or external art competitions, festivals, and community art events.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate art into cross-curricular activities and school-wide events.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and best practices in art education.
    • Participate in workshops, seminars, and other professional development activities to improve teaching methods and artistic knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Art or Education is a plus.
    • A teaching certification or B.Ed. is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience teaching art in a school setting, preferably within a CBSE-affiliated institution.
    • Experience in guiding students in various forms of visual art (drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.) and organizing exhibitions is highly desirable.
