Responsibilities and Duties:

• Curriculum Support:
  • Collaborate with IB mathematics teachers to design and implement effective lesson plans that align with IB standards and practices.
  • Provide guidance on the IB mathematics curriculum, including the Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation courses.

• Professional Development:
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for teachers to enhance their understanding of IB philosophy and teaching methodologies.
  • Stay updated on IB curriculum changes and best practices, sharing insights with faculty to continuously improve teaching effectiveness.

• Student Engagement:
  • Work with students individually and in small groups to support their understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Provide tutoring and academic support for students preparing for IB assessments, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for success.

• Resource Development:
  • Create and curate instructional materials, including worksheets, assessments, and digital resources, to support diverse learning needs.
  • Assist in the integration of technology into the mathematics curriculum, promoting innovative teaching and learning practices.

• Assessment and Feedback:
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop formative and summative assessments that align with IB standards and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and inform instructional decisions.

• Community Building:
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and a growth mindset.
  • Organize and participate in mathematics-related events, competitions, and extracurricular activities to promote a passion for mathematics among students.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching IB mathematics courses or a strong understanding of the IB curriculum framework is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in mathematics instruction and a passion for fostering student engagement in mathematics.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and parents.
• Proficient in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
