Job Description

Don Bosco Public School a well-established CBSE-affiliated institution, is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality music education, fostering a love for music, and helping students develop their musical talents in a supportive and creative environment. The Music Teacher will teach both practical and theoretical aspects of music, encouraging students to appreciate and perform music at various levels.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
    • Plan, organize, and deliver music lessons in alignment with CBSE guidelines and school objectives.
    • Must known to Drums, piano and guitar
    • Teach a variety of music concepts, including music theory, performance skills, and music history.
    • Foster creativity and artistic expression through different musical activities, ensuring students’ overall development.
  • Performance & Extracurricular Activities:
    • Guide students in both individual and group music performances, including concerts, recitals, and school events.
    • Lead and support school-based music programs, such as choirs, bands, orchestras, or other music ensembles.
    • Organize music competitions, talent shows, and participate in inter-school music festivals.
  • Student Engagement & Development:
    • Encourage students to explore their musical interests and develop their skills through various instruments and vocal training.
    • Offer constructive feedback to students, tracking progress and suggesting areas for improvement.
    • Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with other faculty members to integrate music into interdisciplinary activities and school-wide events.
    • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
    • Collaborate with the administration to organize music-related school functions and special events.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay informed about the latest trends in music education and teaching techniques.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and musical knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • A teaching certification in music education (B.Ed. or similar qualification) is desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in teaching music in an academic setting, preferably in a CBSE-affiliated school.
    • Experience in leading music performances, school bands, choirs, or other musical ensembles is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of music theory, various musical instruments, and performance techniques.
    • Proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument and vocal training.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical talents and creativity.
