Job Description – Primary & Middle School English Teacher 

Position Overview

The Primary English Teacher will develop foundational language skills in students (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The teacher will nurture creativity, vocabulary building, and comprehension while ensuring students gain confidence in using English effectively in both academic and everyday contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with CBSE/School curriculum.

• Teach phonics, spelling, grammar, reading comprehension, and creative writing.

• Encourage speaking skills through storytelling, recitation, role-play, and classroom discussions.

• Incorporate activity-based and experiential learning methods suitable for young learners.

• Assess student performance regularly and maintain progress records.

• Provide individualized attention to children with varying levels of language proficiency.

• Foster reading habits through library activities, book clubs, and guided reading.

• Communicate effectively with parents about student progress and ways to support learning at home.

• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate English learning across other subjects.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English or Education).

• B.Ed. (mandatory as per CBSE norms).

• Strong command of English language and child-centered pedagogy.

• Prior experience in teaching English to primary students preferred.

• Creative teaching strategies, patience, and classroom management skills.
