ISL currently runs three projects.

The Adira Program

Mission: To empower promising young women from
disadvantaged backgrounds with world-class higher education,
mentorship, and emerging career pathways, equipping them to
excel, uplift communities, and drive systemic change

Approach:

1. Identify capable and academically oriented girl students
from economically weaker sections (EWS) backgrounds.
2. Create an ecosystem that provides comprehensive
support, including knowledge, skills, growth mindset, and
networking opportunities, while empowering them to
exercise agency, develop risk-taking aptitude, and enhance
decision-making skills.
3. Foster the development of values-driven leaders who can
address complex community challenges.
4. Prepare students for admission to top global universities
and success in emerging career pathways.

Through continued engagement that begins in 9th grade, they will
be equipped with skills and knowledge to help them get into
college and support them until they graduate. Adira is a
self-paced program that allows students to work asynchronously
in some capacity.

The Critical Literacy Project
(CLP)

Mission: We create professional development spaces focused on
critical thinking tailored to educators’ needs and build
communities to engage in critical discussion.

Project Goal:
To build a long-term and sustainable
teacher-learning solutions for Critical Literacy that include
upskilling, acquiring knowledge, and continuous reflection

AI for SI

AI for SI is a social impact project that we are currently running
in Chennai and Pune but it will be expanded to other cities in the
coming year.

Project Mission

Our mission is to build a comprehensive Community Map of
low-income communities across India by leveraging AI,
extensive surveys, and drone mapping. This map will serve as a
crucial tool for NGOs and government agencies to implement
data-driven interventions that drive impactful change.

Objectives:

● A data hub on top of an LLM for easy access and queries
to the community map.
● AI predictive model for interventions and data
extrapolations of future communities.
● Form a network of NGOs, Government Agencies,
Schools, and Universities to use the data to implement
effective interventions in marginalised communities. This
will give them a running start.
● Data integrity: Continual surveys. Effect of interventions

The Manager/Associate – Computer Science, Curriculum and Facilitation will play a
critical role in advancing ISL’s mission by designing and delivering impactful computer
science education, with a strong emphasis on AI and emerging technologies. They will be
responsible for curriculum development, teaching and facilitation, and integrating
technology and data-driven practices across the organization, which currently includes one
program and two projects. Additionally, They will have the opportunity to engage in
outreach efforts for projects and liaise with stakeholders to ensure alignment with
organizational goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Teaching and Facilitation: Facilitate and teach computer science concepts, designing
engaging learning environments focused on AI and relevant topics for middle and high
school students.

Curriculum Design:
Design and develop a comprehensive, age-appropriate computer
science curriculum, with a strong focus on AI and emerging technologies. Continuously
refine the curriculum based on student feedback, technological advancements, and evolving
educational needs.

Data Management:
Collect, organize, and maintain datasets relevant to our organization’s
programs and operations. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Data Analysis: Analyze data to extract actionable insights and inform decision-making
processes. Produce reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings
effectively.

Technology Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff
members on various technology platforms and tools. Serve as a liaison with external IT
vendors as needed.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance
efficiency through the use of technology solutions. Develop and implement process
improvements as needed.

Training and Capacity Building:
Develop training materials and conduct training sessions
for staff members on data management best practices and technology usage. Build
organizational capacity in data-driven decision-making.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of data and

technology into programmatic activities and strategic initiatives. Participate in project teams
as needed.

Compliance:
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, privacy policies, and
organizational data governance standards. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices
in data management and technology.

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related field.
● Previous experience in data management, analysis, and technology support is preferred.
● Demonstrated ability to create Power BI and Tableau dashboards and develop chatbots.
● Must demonstrate enthusiasm in effectively teaching computer science concepts to both middle
and high school students.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
● Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
