Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Academic Responsibilities

  • Planning and preparing lessons according to the prescribed syllabus and curriculum.

  • Delivering lectures effectively for classes XI and XII in their subject of specialization.

  • Designing teaching aids and using smart classroom tools or digital platforms to enhance learning.

  • Preparing question papers, evaluating answer scripts, and maintaining records of students’ academic performance.

  • Ensuring syllabus completion within the academic calendar and preparing students for board examinations.


2. Student Development

  • Guiding students to develop conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking skills.

  • Providing academic counseling and mentoring for career guidance and competitive exams.

  • Identifying slow learners and providing remedial teaching or extra support where needed.

  • Encouraging participation in co-curricular and subject-related competitions (e.g., quizzes, debates, Olympiads).


3. Classroom Management

  • Maintaining classroom discipline and fostering a positive learning environment.

  • Ensuring attendance, punctuality, and decorum among students.

  • Monitoring student behavior and reporting issues to the Head of Department or Principal as needed.


4. Evaluation and Assessment

  • Conducting formative and summative assessments regularly.

  • Recording marks, grades, and performance reports accurately.

  • Analyzing results and suggesting improvement strategies for individual students.


5. Professional Responsibilities

  • Attending staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training programs.

  • Collaborating with colleagues in curriculum planning and school events.

  • Keeping updated with the latest developments in their subject area and educational technology.

  • Maintaining records such as lesson plans, student registers, and progress reports.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Educational Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
    Examples:

    • PGT (English): M.A. in English

    • PGT (Mathematics): M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics

    • PGT (Physics): M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics

    • PGT (Biology): M.Sc. in Botany / Zoology / Life Science

    • PGT (Commerce): M.Com.

    • PGT (Computer Science): M.Sc. (Computer Science) / MCA / B.E. or B.Tech (Computer Science / IT)

2. Professional Qualification

  • B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.

3. Desirable Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Knowledge of Computer Applications

  • Proficiency in English and Hindi

  • Prior teaching experience at the senior secondary level
