Job Description

Job Title: Pre-Primary Teacher

Location: [Gurukulam Global Residential School, Denkanikottai]

Reports To: Principal / Academic Coordinator

 

The Pre-Primary Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that fosters the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children. The teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning while ensuring holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery & Classroom Management
  1. Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  2. Design engaging activities to support literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and socio-emotional development.
  3. Maintain a well-organized, stimulating, and child-friendly classroom environment.
  • Child Development & Care
  1. Observe and monitor children’s growth and development, documenting progress regularly.
  2. Provide personalized support to students with different learning needs.
  3. Foster independence, creativity, and positive behavior among children.
  • Communication & Collaboration
  1. Maintain positive and effective communication with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school administration to enhance teaching practices.
  3. Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development programs.
  • Safety & Well-being
  1. Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  2. Promote hygiene, good manners, and healthy habits among students.
  3. Handle classroom challenges with patience, empathy, and appropriate discipline strategies.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Montessori Training / NTT (Nursery Teacher Training) or equivalent.
  2. Prior experience in teaching pre-primary classes is preferred.
  3. Strong communication skills in English (and [regional language] if required).
  4. Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
  5. Ability to use innovative teaching aids, including digital tools where required.

Working Conditions

  1. Full-time, based at the school campus.
  2. Involves active engagement with children indoors and outdoors.
  3. Occasional participation in school programs, parent meetings, and events beyond regular school hours.
