Job Title: Principal

Reporting To: Management
Role Overview
The Principal shall be the academic and administrative head of the school, responsible for providing strong leadership, maintaining academic excellence, building disciplined yet joyful learning culture, ensuring efficient operations, and achieving the school’s vision for quality education. The role requires strategic planning, people leadership, stakeholder management, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, and continuous school improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership
- Ensure high academic standards through effective curriculum planning and implementation.
- Promote innovative, child-centric, experiential, and skill-based learning.
- Monitor teaching quality through classroom observations, mentoring, and review systems.
- Drive academic excellence through assessments, result analysis, enrichment, and remedial programs.
- Encourage use of technology, modern pedagogy, and best educational practices.
- Administration & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day school operations ensuring smooth functioning of all departments.
- Implement school policies, systems, safety protocols, and administrative procedures.
- Manage timetable planning, resource allocation, infrastructure utilization, and facilities management.
- Maintain discipline, order, and a safe school environment.
- Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead, motivate, and guide teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Recruit, train, mentor, appraise, and build capability within teams.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven, professional work culture.
- Student Development
- Ensure holistic growth including academics, discipline, values, life skills, and co-curricular development.
- Promote mental well-being, inclusive education, and supportive student engagement practices.
- Encourage participation in competitions, activities, events, and leadership programs.
- Parent & Community Relations
- Build trust and transparent communication with parents and guardians.
- Conduct PTMs, grievance resolution, community engagement, and public relations.
- Represent the school positively with external stakeholders and educational bodies.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Board norms (CBSE/ICSE/State Board as applicable).
- Maintain statutory records, documentation, and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance related to education policies, safety, RTE, and government guidelines.
- Strategic Growth & School Development
- Contribute to vision building, brand strengthening, admissions strategy, and school growth initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through planning, monitoring, and execution of development goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Postgraduate Degree with B.Ed / M.Ed (mandatory).
- Minimum 10+ years of teaching experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (Vice Principal / Principal / Coordinator).
- Strong academic background and understanding of modern education systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in English; strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
