Job Title: Primary Teacher (PRT) – English

Reporting To: Principal
Role Overview
The Primary English Teacher will be responsible for developing strong language skills among students of Primary Grades through engaging teaching methodologies, age-appropriate activities, and structured learning strategies. The teacher shall ensure holistic development of students in listening, speaking, reading, writing, comprehension, pronunciation, grammar, and overall communication skills while maintaining discipline and a child-centric learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Teach English to primary students as per school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and assessments aligned with grade level.
- Build strong foundation in reading skills (phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension).
- Strengthen writing skills (sentence formation, creative writing, grammar usage, handwriting).
- Promote confident speaking and listening abilities through activities, conversations, role plays, recitations, storytelling etc.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments; maintain academic records and progress reports.
- Provide remedial and enrichment support to learners as required.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined, respectful, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in learners.
- Encourage value-based learning, positive behavior, and emotional well-being.
Administrative & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, PTMs, school events, and academic planning.
- Maintain student records, mark registers, portfolios, and documentation.
- Collaborate with peers and coordinators for academic improvement and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to school policies, systems, and timelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in English.
- B.Ed / D.El.Ed (mandatory as per regulatory norms).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as Primary English Teacher preferred.
- Fluency in English with excellent pronunciation and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of child psychology and primary pedagogy.
- Ability to use activity-based, experiential, and interactive teaching approaches.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with digital learning tools.
