Role Overview

The Primary Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for developing strong numerical, logical, and problem-solving skills among primary students. The role requires creating engaging, concept-oriented, and activity-based learning experiences that build clarity in fundamental mathematical concepts while ensuring a joyful, stress-free learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics to primary classes as per the prescribed syllabus and learning outcomes.
• Design and deliver structured lesson plans, learning materials, worksheets, and activities.
• Build strong foundation in basic operations, numeracy, number sense, mental math, geometry, measurements, and data handling.
• Encourage conceptual understanding rather than rote learning.
• Conduct periodic formative and summative assessments and evaluate student performance.
• Provide individualized support through remedial and enrichment classes where required.

Classroom & Student Management

• Maintain a positive, engaging, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Encourage curiosity, logical thinking, and love for Mathematics.
• Promote learner confidence through practical learning, games, real-life applications, and hands-on activities.

Administrative & Professional Duties

• Maintain attendance, academic records, assessments, and documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, PTMs, and school events.
• Coordinate with colleagues and academic coordinators for curriculum planning and quality enhancement.
• Adhere to school systems, policies, and academic timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Mathematics or relevant discipline.
• B.Ed / D.El.Ed (mandatory as per norms).
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as Primary Mathematics Teacher preferred.
• Strong command over Mathematical concepts and Primary Pedagogy.
• Excellent communication skills, preferably fluent in English.
• Familiarity with activity-based, experiential, and child-centric teaching approaches.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to integrate technology in teaching.
