Job Summary

Vidyodaya International School is seeking a compassionate and professionally qualified School Counsellor. The primary objective is to promote the mental health and emotional well-being of our students across all age groups. You will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to resolve behavioral issues, provide career guidance, and foster a “Happy Classroom” environment that aligns with CBSE’s wellness guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Individual & Group Counselling: Conduct one-on-one sessions for students facing academic stress, anxiety, or behavioral challenges.
  • Career Guidance: Assist Senior Secondary (PGT) students in identifying career paths, selecting college courses, and preparing for competitive exams through aptitude testing.
  • Workshops & Seminars: Organize regular sessions on topics like “Life Skills,” “Good Touch/Bad Touch awareness,” “Stress Management,” and “Cyber Safety.”
  • Teacher/Parent Consultation: Advise faculty and parents on how to support students with special educational needs or emotional sensitivities.
  • Mental Health Curriculum: Implement the CBSE Wellness Program, focusing on self-esteem, empathy, and social responsibility.

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Education: Master’s degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology (Clinical or Counselling) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Hindi is essential to communicate effectively with the Manawar community.
  • Soft Skills: High level of empathy, active listening, non-judgmental attitude, and excellent observation skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the POCSO Act and CBSE guidelines for child safety and wellness.
