Job Title: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Mathematics

School: Agasti International School

Department: Academics – Middle / Secondary Section

Reporting To: Principal

Role Overview

The TGT Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to middle and secondary classes, ensuring strong conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities in students. The teacher shall deliver structured and engaging lessons while creating a positive, disciplined, and student-centered learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics as per prescribed curriculum and academic plan.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, worksheets, digital learning content, and activity-based tasks.
  • Develop strong conceptual clarity in Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Statistics, and higher-grade content as applicable.
  • Encourage logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and application-based learning.
  • Conduct regular formative and summative assessments and maintain academic records.
  • Provide remedial support and enrichment learning as required.

Classroom & Learner Management

  • Maintain a structured, engaging, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Encourage confidence and interest in Mathematics through practical learning and real-life applications.
  • Support students’ emotional and academic development with patience and guidance.

Administrative & Professional Duties

  • Maintain attendance, lesson documentation, assessment records, and student portfolios.
  • Participate in staff meetings, workshops, PTMs, events, and academic activities.
  • Collaborate with academic coordinators and colleagues to enhance teaching quality.
  • Follow school policies, procedures, and academic schedules.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or relevant discipline with B.Ed (mandatory).
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not compulsory.
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills, preferably fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with activity-based, experiential, and technology-enabled teaching.
  • Understanding of adolescent psychology and classroom dynamics.
