Job Title: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Sanskrit

School: Agasti International School

Department: Academics – Middle / Secondary Section

Reporting To: Principal

Role Overview

The TGT Sanskrit Teacher will be responsible for teaching Sanskrit to middle and secondary classes, ensuring strong understanding of language structure, grammar, pronunciation, literature, and cultural values. The teacher shall promote interest and appreciation of the Sanskrit language while fostering disciplined, joyful, and effective learning.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

  • Teach Sanskrit as per prescribed curriculum and syllabus.
  • Prepare structured lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and practice materials.
  • Develop student proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, comprehension, shloka chanting, and grammar.
  • Introduce students to Sanskrit literature, culture, values, and heritage.
  • Conduct regular formative and summative assessments; maintain student performance records.
  • Provide remedial support and enrichment learning as required.

Classroom & Learner Management

  • Maintain a disciplined, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
  • Encourage clarity in pronunciation, confidence in speaking, and love for the language.
  • Support students’ academic and emotional development with patience and care.

Administrative & Professional Duties

  • Maintain attendance, lesson documentation, assessment records, and portfolios.
  • Participate in staff meetings, PTMs, workshops, events, and academic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with academic coordinators and colleagues for curriculum enhancement.
  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Sanskrit as a major subject with B.Ed (mandatory).
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not compulsory.
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong command over Sanskrit grammar and literature.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluency in English preferred.
  • Familiarity with activity-based, experiential, and value-oriented teaching methods.
