Job Title: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Social Science

Location: Agasti International School
Department: Academics
Reporting To: Principal / Academic Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time


Role Purpose

The TGT – Social Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven learning experiences in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics for middle and secondary grades. The teacher should foster analytical thinking, values-based understanding, and real-life application of social sciences while maintaining discipline, inclusiveness, and a positive classroom environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver structured, learner-centric lessons aligned with school curriculum and board requirements.
  • Teach Social Science subjects effectively, ensuring conceptual clarity and strong skill development in interpretation, reasoning, and critical thinking.
  • Use innovative pedagogies including activities, storytelling, projects, debates, field studies, and experiential learning.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and assessments as per school standards.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments; evaluate and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain academic records, student progress reports, and documentation as required.
  • Foster classroom discipline, values, respect for diversity, and positive student behavior.
  • Integrate technology in teaching including smart classroom tools, presentations, and digital learning platforms.
  • Support remedial teaching for slow learners and enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
  • Participate actively in school events, exhibitions, assemblies, field trips, and academic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school management for student development and continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to school policies, safeguarding norms, and code of conduct.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in History / Geography / Political Science / Social Sciences with B.Ed. (Mandatory).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a reputed school preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and clarity of concepts.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and classroom technology.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
